Oatmeal Banana Breakfast Smoothie!

The new mom diet is a REAL thing.  Unless you have a nanny, personal chef or partner that likes to cook eating maybe on the back of your mind while trying to tend to your new baby.  However, it is crucial that you eat well-balanced meals. Especially for nursing mothers!  When my son was born, smoothies were my go to in the morning.  They were quick, easy and delicious!  

Oatmeal Banana Breakfast Smoothie!

My sister introduced me to this amazing oatmeal breakfast smoothie a while ago, and I gave it my own spin.  I am not a calorie counter, but there are ways you can turn this smoothie into a healthier option if you are.  Here are the ingredients below that you need:

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Old Fashioned Oatmeal

  • 1 Banana

  • 2 Teaspoons Honey

  • 1/2 Almond Milk

  • 1/2 Vanilla Greek Yogurt

  • 1/4 Teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/2 Cup of Ice

Directions

Add all the ingredients to a high-speed blender in the order listed, and blend on high until a smooth and creamy consistency is reached. That’s it! Easy right? 

 
 

You can personalize this smoothie so many ways! You can add chia seeds, fruits (like apple, blueberries, peaches etc.) or add some brown sugar.  However you eat your oatmeal can be added to this smoothie! This smoothie is great for breastfeeding mothers; oatmeal aids in lactation.
