Apple Pie Bites
Blame this one on my sweet tooth entirely. I was trying to figure out what I wanted for dinner, and I kept thinking “I want dessert”. So I headed over to Pinterest and ran across this recipe for Apple Pie Bites from TheBlondCook.com.
Apple Pie Bites
I was thrilled to know everything I needed was already in my fridge and cabinets sitting there.
What You Will Need
1 Granny Smith Apple
1 can Pillsbury Cresent Rolls
3 tbs Butter (melted)
1tbs Apple Pie Spice (I will show you how to make your own)
1/4 cup Light Brown Sugar
2 Tbs Granulated Sugar
Parchment or Wax Paper
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Apple Pie Spice
You can purchase Apple Pie spice from your local grocery store, but if you do not have any handy no worries, I know you have three items in your spice cabinet that will do the job.
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
1/2 tsp Nutmeg
1/4 tspAll Spice
Mix, and there you have it, Apple Pie Spice!
In a small bowl, you are going to mix all your dry ingredients then set aside
In a separate bowl, you are going melt your butter. You will now slice and core your apple to get eight apple slices. Make your slices a decent size so that they fill the crescent roll. Toss your apples in the butter then set aside.
On your cookie sheet, you are going to place a sheet of wax paper and lay out your crescent rolls. Grabbing your dry ingredient mixture sprinkle an even coating of spices on each triangle.
Place your apple slice on the wider end of each triangle and get rolling! Roll up each roll then using the leftover melted butter from your apple you are going to brush it across the top of each crescent.
Place in oven and cook for 10 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
Thats it. Easy right! Oh, and for dinner I decided to make my Turkey Meatloaf Meatballs. Safe to say everyone is full and happy tonight!
