Customizable IKEA Dressers For Your Kid(s)
One thing I love about IKEA (amongst a million others) is that a lot of their furniture is customizable. You can do a lot of DIY customization to their furniture. I had the bright idea to allow the boys to paint their own dressers to give their room a little bit of color. It ended up being a really fun project and I can tell the boys really loved painting their dresser and the overall look of their room.
This project was done for less than $100!
- Acrylic Paint
- Foam Paint Brushes
- Palette Cups (or you can use disposable cups or plates)
- News Paper (you will need A LOT)
Assemble the dressers but don't add the drawers in until you are done painting. Lay A LOT of news paper down or if able paint outside or in your garage. Once you have painted the entire dresser let it air dry for about 2-3 hours. Once completely assemble drawers and waaah-llllaaaa your little ones have a personalized dresser.
There are plenty of ways you can customize this dresser, you can add characters, stripes, polka dots, decals, you name it! You can even add your own dresser knobs to them to give it an even more "expensive touch"!
I would love to see your dressers! Comment them below or post them to our social medias!
