Who We Are
The Modern Moms Club creates beautifully curated gatherings for mothers and their children, designed around connection, thoughtful experiences, and, of course, great food.
Our events bring together small groups of women in warm, welcoming settings where conversation flows easily, babies are cared for nearby, and every detail is intentionally considered. From elevated lunches and seasonal activities to creative workshops and community experiences, each gathering is designed to feel special without feeling forced.
At its core, Modern Moms Club is about creating space for connection and community in a way that feels warm, intentional, and worth leaving the house for.
Why We Started The Club
Like many moms, we found that community didn’t always come easily after having kids, especially in a new place. We craved adult conversation, shared meals, and spaces that felt welcoming without being overwhelming.
Modern Moms Club grew out of that need. What started as a few moms meeting up turned into something we realized many others were quietly looking for too.
Meet the Founders
Nisha Patel, a corporate executive, and Elise Mark, an opera singer, are two first-time moms who moved from different parts of the country to Bucks County to raise their families.
They met during story time at the Yardley Library, and what started as a simple weekly outing quickly turned into something more: a community of moms who became friends, planned playdates, shared meals, and made room for one another in the chaos of early motherhood.
That experience changed everything. It reminded them how powerful it is to feel supported, seen, and connected. They wanted to bring that same sense of community, ease, and joy to more moms, and that’s how The Modern Moms Club was born.
Meet the Team
What started as a two-mom idea has grown into something bigger. Meet the team helping bring Modern Moms to life.
Nisha Patel
Nisha is a corporate executive, a self-proclaimed workaholic, and a natural go-getter. The Modern Moms Club started as an idea she couldn’t shake after becoming a mom herself and realizing how much she wanted more ways to meet and spend time with other women in the same season of life.
She’s almost always working on something, planning something, or doing something for someone else. But for all of her drive, she’s also one of the kindest people you’ll meet. She genuinely loves making people feel welcome and comfortable and is usually the first person to notice when someone needs to be brought into the conversation.
After moving to Bucks County, finding community became even more important to her, and a big part of what eventually brought MMC to life.
Co-Founder
Elise Mark
Elise is a professional singer, teaching artist, and community arts organizer who has spent much of her career bringing people together through music, creativity, and shared experiences.
She’s usually the one asking, “What if we did this?” and then running with an idea. She loves creating experiences, trying new things, and finding interesting people to bring into the mix. Becoming a mom made her even more interested in making space for women to keep doing things that are fun, creative, and for themselves.
She lives in Bucks County with her husband and two boys, while much of her creative work still keeps her connected to Philadelphia.
Co-Founder
Joanna Tong
Joanna is a mom and marketing professional who believes there’s nothing a good meal can’t fix. Inspired by her East Coast upbringing and Cantonese roots, she brings a style that feels familiar with a hint of the unexpected.
She has always been someone who pays attention to the details, creating moments that feel thoughtful and memorable. Whether in the kitchen or at the table, she naturally creates spaces where people feel cared for, comfortable, and at home.
At Modern Moms, Joanna brings that same attention to detail, along with her love of food, crafting, and creating. She’s practical, creative, and always willing to try something new, even if she hasn’t done it before.
